Northern Colombia
Tayrona, trek to the Lost City and La Guajira desert
Northern Colombia concentrates in 17 days some of the most spectacular landscapes on the continent. From the turquoise waters of Tayrona National Park, where the tropical jungle falls directly into the Caribbean, to the lunar desert of La Guajira with its 50-metre dunes, via the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — the world's highest coastal mountain range.
The highlight of the adventure is the trek to the Lost City (Teyuna), a pre-Hispanic city built around 800 AD by the Tayrona civilisation. Four days through dense jungle, crossing rivers and Kogui villages, culminate in the 1,263 stone steps that lead to one of the Americas' most spectacular archaeological wonders.
A 17-day journey bringing together the best of northern Colombia: archaeology, nature and ancestral culture.
